Monzo’s mission: to make money work for everyone.

From 2018, I helped guide Monzo through its early evolution, shaping what it really meant to be Monzo as the brand matured beyond its initial launch success. I partnered closely with the in-house brand team and external agency to direct You make Monzo, Monzo, the company’s first major ATL campaign — a pivotal moment that took the brand to TV and OOH and introduced it to entirely new audiences.

Monzo turned its bank card into a genuine fashion statement, creating a highly ownable brand asset and a passionate following. I led the design of the first Plus, Premium, and Business cards — from weeks of exploration to on-site manufacturing — ultimately landing the blue holographic and white metal cards.

Alongside this, I built and led Monzo’s first visual design team, delivering work across social, ATL, illustration, and core product communications.

You make Monzo, Monzo – the first ATL campaign for Monzo. We gave Monzo a voice in the conversation, really landing the brand as your close, friendly financial partner delivering exactly what’s needed to make your money work.

Plus & Premium Cards

Customers were asking for a metal card, so we delivered a classic, premium look and feel. Alongside this, we brought vibrancy and personality to the Plus proposition with a blue holographic card. The cards were just the start — we also shaped the strategy and sub-identities for these paid accounts, ensuring the experience across product and marketing made customers feel distinct and valued at every touchpoint.

Monzo Business

Monzo Business Banking was all about putting businesses and their owners in the spotlight. Visually, we pulled out the hot coral edging of the card across other collateral to help it all tie back in to it’s parent brand that customers know and love.
